The BeadCreators

Creating beautiful beadwork with BeadCreator

I'm not happy with this version at all!  Is anyone else having issues with this new version?

Georgia.........I got your loom pattern and it's great. I made 2. One is a smaller version. I love it. Thanks

I'm brand new too.....5 is more difficult that I thought and no instruction manual. I'm really stuggling but I'm plugging along. It's not quite as fun when it's this difficult and it's not an upgrade so I don't have 4. I have another program that if there are only a coule of bead, I can tell it to merge them and I don't have to actually do anything, the program just changes the color to a color next to it. On 5 I can print out the patern but I can't find the written instruction and they don't print out with the pattern and there doesn't seem to be an alternative. Can anyone help?
Hi Gerogia,

I am loving the new BC5, It has taken a while to find all my favorite features, and try the new ones. The new fetures are wonderful, especialy the Color Map in the Right hand panel, and the way you can fade the image from Original to Pattern. I really like the way you can arrange the columns the way you like. Lots of new stuff.

I have been runing both versions - BC4 and BC5. Mine installed with the same serial Number so I didn't have a problem. However, with the newest update, April 4, the pattern is not backward compatable anymore. When I save it in BC5, I can no longer open it in BC 4. It says "failed to load design". Are you having this problem? If you are not haveing this same problem, I will contact Andrew and see if I can get it fixed.

Thanks Marcia

Hi Shirley,

I had a lot of trouble at first with the new version and was not happy until Andrew sent the April version of 4 and it would use the same serial # as the version 5. At the moment I have the latest 5 and the April 4 on the computer, both using the same Registration # and I can use either one as I slowly learn the new one. Explain to him that you want both able to run like me.....for a while no matter which one I opened it was Illegal and had to put in the number and they used different numbers too so was a frustration.

Drop a ticket in the support and ask for these fixes or email Andrew directly with the link on the right side of this page. He fixed me up this way and now I'm happy. Perhaps when all the patches are finished and installed for 5 I will let 4 go but not until I see that for sure.

I realize these programs are very large in code and subject to glitches here and there and it may take time to get all the bugs out if there are any so be patient and try this.

Hang in there, it should get better soon for you.

So that is what is going on. I did have that trouble once but have not tried the same motion again. Please do mention that 'cause it happened to me too and it was a good thing I had the file elsewhere and could find it again.
Thanks,
Georgia
Hi Leslie, so glad you like the loom thing.

You can open the Edit color groups thing on the Edit drop down and then you can change a color (all of that color) to any other color. or you can open the editor from the tool bar or the drop down and then use a "tool" to color beads as you like but of course you have to find them first......that is easier to do with 5 and I like that.

I am not sure about your question on instructions as I don't write instructions on my patterns so someone else will have to jump in here.

A manual is in the works and should be along shortly, I think.

Lets see if I can explain it a little better. I'd like to be able to print a graph to work off of or a line by line written pattern, can this program do this. I'll try to attach a simple example. One is a picture of the Indian Blanket and the other one is the pattern in row by row form. I haven't a clue if this will work. Thanks

I was having a lot of issues such as not saving and error messages all over the place. I "cured" it by running the program in adminstrator mode (right click the shortcut then click "Run As Administrator". This seems to have cured the problem although I hope this will be sorted out properly in a future update.
Thank you for your response. I have to click run as admin every time I open it. I appreciate the reply.

Thank you Georgia. I do have both version 4 and 5 on my computer right now, and 4 is working still. Hope it continues to, until the manual for 5 comes and I can follow along. Would be nice if I just had time to spend on learning 5, but only so much of it. Thank you again.

I haven't made any updates since January, because I am to afraid I will have to re-register, get a new serial number and wait for weeks for that to happen. Very frustrating when the program is not necessarily inexpensive. Perhaps "bugs" should have been worked out prior to release! Last time I requested Help - I was told I was the only one experiencing these problems - thanks ladies for sharing my pain! Here's to a bright day when it works as promised.

I so agree! I've never experienced a software program that is so difficult to register with updates. Tonite I was going to download the Feb. 2 update, hoping it will fix some of the problems I'm having in Publisher...but the link on this page goes to the support page, with noplace to download the update. If I do ever figure out how to update, doubltless it will not be seamless and will require another "registration" for a program I've registered already, and aborting my work until the registration is completed.

I share your pain, JECK!

I thought I had an automatic registration take place to be able to use the product when I was given the dowload link, I was so happy when I got the download that I wrote praising, gloating goodies as feedback...alas, I cannot use the program due it it wanting me to register it and I am tired of trying.

I am back to my old version, at least I have permission to use it as it is still registered.

I am so wearied by chasing up registraion numbers etc: it's always a struggle to get all the help needed with the new updated versions, I am ever so tired of it all, deeply tired.
I have BeadCreator for 6 years. I used it almost daily, update every update as soon as it is available, and in 6 years, I have only had trouble with the serial number about 2 or 3 times.

When you click the Update to get the update, you need to submit a TICKET to get the update. Andrew usually answers Tickets in 24 to 48 hours. Usually 24 hours or less.

Any problems you have can be solved by submitting a TICKET. Andrew is very responsive to any issues. He has always answered me and helped. He has even changed the program and added features for me.

I hope you will submit a ticket and get the help you need because this is truly a good Program.

Happy Beading Marcia
