yep you are correct, I paid $75.00 extra for the pro plus version. I have designed from the pictures, but I put the picture thru photo shop first.

Annette, I hope someone in admin. will answer this for you, but my understanding of it is that the lifetime membership is like for BCP6, but not the version with the artwork. The artwork version is an extra fee, but that is for them to explain to you. Read Chuck's newest message as he addresses that issue in it.

I personally do not care for the freebie artwork as I do loomed work with my own photographs.........so I've never paid much attention to it all. Donna

I have several questions about the software and its updates. I have still installed on my computer "BeadCreator Pro Business Addition, version 4 and recently updated to BeadCreator Pro 6. I had purchased several lifetime licenses way back when. I am confused about the upgrade to the new business addition that comes with the artwork. Do I qualify for that?

Also, I can't seem to find the printed manual for BeadCreator Pro 6. Is that available? Somewhere?

Thank you Donna & Judith. As I start this pattern process I am thrilled to know I can tap into more experienced wisdom! Donna, you seem to have bead size down to an exact science. I'm moving today but will play with the program asap ~ can't wait. And I'm sure I'll have lots more questions, so thanks in advance for everyone's input.

Donna, I don't know what a GSD is, but my dog ~ Nikki ~ is a mutt... & the smartest, happiest dog I've ever known.

Judith, I actually believe that for hand beading, making up a 1" square is the best solution, especially for any project of a larger size. Beads may vary in size but what really determines our outcome is the type of thread, stitch, and our own personal tension. It took me ages to knit properly and come out with something that was the size it was supposed to be and the same goes with beading.

I cannot make anything in peyote that isn't sloppy.........why? whose nose. I've done all the work arounds and use a firmer thread, but without the addition of a third hand to hold that tension all the time, I come up with sort of loose peyote. Now peyote is my downfall anyway, all my other stitches are fine, but I got a bad start with peyote (freeform bracelet with flying bridges and much decoration on it and I cut a bridge thread too close and nicked the base thread of the bracelet and it all fell apart.........trauma) I have just recently made up and accepted peyote as part of my world and I'm doing better with it. Thanks Donna. I appreciate the comment. I certainly don't have any problem with using your sizes (and I have not done any measuring except for 1" squares when I've worked with a certain size and know how many beads wide  and long I need something. Thanks, again.

Judith, not to bash Miyuki's site, but I use a digital micrometer and unless they have changed sizes (unlikely would be my guess) they are misreading their equipment. I will go to their site and have a look see, but it is possible that some web person guessed or took the measurements and didn't do it right. I have measured a LOT of delicas.

Of course, .05882 is not much different than the larger sized .0550 that I got (smallest size I measured is .0500), but I don't agree with .0625 as opposed to .0667, again unless they have changed their machinery and sizes.

Keven, I do an adaptation of T. Gutherie's no warps method of looming where you HAVE TO KNOW your size before you warp up the loom. In using .0550 for the straight sides of the bead and .0667 across the opening I have not had much wiggle room, so I am confident of my measurements. Getting down to four decimal points is not something that is an issue to most people. If you are doing a large loom project and a type of no warps, it gets a bit more important.

Bead size is not really "critical" to the design unless you are fitting it like Judith mentioned. What is more important is to get the general dimensions going the right direction so that the pattern is not squashed or elongated.......which depending on what you are beading may or may not even show up at all. One of my early projects was a smallish portrait of one of my dogs, got the bead sizes going the wrong directions and she came out looking a bit thinnish. I know it, I see it, but everyone else sees it and comments on how cute she was. Is yours a GSD? Mine are all boxers. Donna

Oops, didn't finish my thought. If you're doing a bracelet or a piece that needs to be an exact size to fit a blank or a standard, then you need to make sure your bead size is pretty close.

Kevin, if you go onto the Myuki sit, they show Delicas to be .05882 by .0625.  I always have to change this in BC.  I think the size tends to be most important if you're doing bead weaving with either a loom or with peyote or brick stitch.

Thank you both very much. I hand-sew using peyote w Delica 11s. I'll start w the manual defaults & go from there. Tho I'm unclear how one learns what to change the "bead size" #s to, with different finishes etc. And... how critical is the "bead size" for the design?
