Purpose of the forum

Many of you now use our most robust application, BeadCreatorPro Publisher Edition, which in a nutshell helps you to publish patterns and sell them through ecommerce methods. This is a more advanced program than our standard pattern design version, with catalog covers, customizable internal pages, and shopping cart functionality. Through this forum, I hope to teach you how to maximize the use of this module and to increase your earnings so as to limit what you have to sell through pattern sites that take a chunk of commission from your earnings.

ok, barbara, let's see if i can help you at all. on mine when i click publish i have two options...single or multiple patterns. the other options are greyed out and not available to me, which i'm not sure why...i'll have to ask. when you click single pattern you will have a window with a bunch of tabs and a thumbnail of your current design will show up. this option is different than clicking the "export to pdf" button on the toolbar because you can add pages to your pattern...that's what the tabs are for. for example, if you click on "designer bio" you can write about yourself and then click the box at the bottom that says "include in publication". now this page is added to your pattern. the fonts and layout tab will allow you to add headers and footers to the page, click the "output design size on preview page" (which will put the dimensions on your preview page, change font sizes, etc. clicking on "book design" will take you back to the main window. at the bottom of the main window you can decide what options you want to have available to your pattern when it is completed. if you want to secure your pattern you can uncheck edit and copy and add a password. also, give your pattern a book name on the main screen, add your price, your name in the boxes right above the thumbnail. when you have added all of the pages you want to your pattern (or none, if you choose) click on ok and your pattern will publish. it will go into a folder in your my documents folder called BCP Books. when you open the folder of the book that you just created you will see a pdf of the pattern and a thumbnail of the pattern image. i usually save a copy of the pdf to my design folder so i have it with all my other patterns. to do this you can open the pdf, click file, save a copy and then find your design file and click save. now you have a copy in your documents folder as well as in your design file. you don't have to do this...i just find it easier to have all my files in my design folder.

the multiple patterns is much the same except you can add more designs. to add a pattern you have a couple of options. you can click on open design and find your designs in your design folder, you can click on "latest designs" to get a listing of the most recent designs you have worked on and select from the list, and you can also click current design which will pop in the design you are currently working on. if you change your mind and don't want a design in your book you can highlight the pattern you don't want and click "delete design". once you have your patterns selected that you want to publish, add in your book name, price, your name, etc. then you can use the tabs to add pages. remember if you add a page that you have to click include in publication for it to show up in your final book. also, i like to have the dimensions for each pattern show up in the book. you'll have to click the thumbnail, fonts and layout tab, check the box for output design size on preview page and then repeat this for each design. you can always go back to the main window by clicking on the book design tab. once you have included any extra pages, added your book information, designs, and publication options at the bottom of the main window, click on ok and your book will publish. again, it will go into a folder in your my documents folder called BCP Books. you'll have your pdf file and thumbnails of all your patterns in the folder. the folder will be named whatever you put in for book name on the main window.

if this is as clear as mud, please let me know what i didn't explain well and i'll try to do better. i hope this helps!
