Brenda Nakamanya replied to Marsha Caristi's discussion Loom pattern settings
"I think it would be best to do a swatch and measure, then set the sizing appropriately in BC. Seeds vary greatly in their size, bead to bead (as mentioned by Donna above), so you can't really use the measurement for delicas."

Brenda Nakamanya replied to Marsha Caristi's discussion Loom pattern settings
"I measured a sample of 1"x1" and used the measurements. I'd do the same for seeds so you have an accurate one. Everyone works to a different tension. So being seeds it may vary."

When you create your palette, the Dewey palette will show a color to you when you open it. You have to open an image, then choose a palette. Then when you hit finish the design opens up. It's there where you can open the palette ( lower right corner) it says edit. The program can't show shine or finish. That's why I look at colors before I bead. Hope it helps.

Great! I know you'll love the program. Andrew is very good about getting you all hooked up. When you design your projects. Please go to your local bead shop (one that carrys Delicas) and pull the palette before you bead. If you don't like a color you can go to Edit Colors  under the file tab and change the colors you don't like.  And I have did some projects with the satin type beads.--HATE EM. they cut the thread. If you need anymore tips let me know.

Yes, I understand that it is an investment. But if you love beading and wank to stretch your creativity. This is the program. If you save, and look at it like as a small business investment. You can make money. Many people here sell there finished goods and patterns on different sites. I know, I buy some of them. Just the custom work (like your bracelet) would keep you busy. Just food for thought.

I actually used another beading program. I don't want to mention it as I don't want to risk being kicked off here! As yet I've been unable to justify the cost of bead creator to myself. And my designs are quite basic at the moment, I'll see :)
