Well, got bored making wire shapes real quickly - will probably sit down at some point and make a lot of the basics and then see how they will work into beadwork, but not till things settle down.

Woohoo! My Thing-a-ma-jig arrived the other day. So I sit there and look at it for a while before going to find some wire to start playing. And find that I dont have anything thick enough. I mean, heck, I've been working with 30 guage or thinner wire and suddenly I need 18 - 20 guage. Brilliant. I finally found some florists wire to play with and had a go at some of the patterns. Needless to say, it didnt really work out that well.

Yikes, its a hot summer here! The temperature is averaging 28 - 30 degrees celcius here in Hamilton, New Zealand. Yet oddly enough, I'm still cold. The husband is having a harder time adjusting from the -6 that it was when he left Iceland, but he never does well in temperatures over 25 anyway.

Or I would be. I decided to enter the mysterious world of wire jigging and took the plunge to order myself a kit from a supplier here in New Zealand. Yay, I thought, they ship in 24 hours, it should be here by Saturday so that I can be playing all weekend!



But no.



The item is out of stock and they do not know when their American (betcha its Fire Mountain) supplier will be sending out some more. So no gettin' jiggy wit it for me this weekend. Now I'm going to have to work… Continue

Well, its a couple of days after Christmas and the weather has turned not so great. Christmas day was beautiful - sunny and warm and wonderful (even with the arguing kids, I guess) Unfortunately that mirrix loom I wanted was not under the tree for me, and neither was the BeadCreator Pro 4. Sigh. Guess I'll just have to keep saving.
