There! That was easy...ohhhh, just wish I did not have to work today, would love to play instead! This is going to be a good thing, thanks for starting this group! Talk with you soon!
BCP 3 might be going lame with all the changes in tech - are you XP or Vista? I had all kinds of trouble until Andrew did the remote session. Come to find out there were problems with the program, he did some reinstallation and a couple tweeks that were beyond my computer skills. I think the program as a whole is a little more difficult than other design programs, but in the long run I like it.
When you have time to sit down and talk on the phone I'll call you if you want to tell me what is happening on your screen. I'm with ACS so anywhere in AK is free for me. I'm only sort of OK with computers, and it might be like the blind leading the blind, but you never know!
I was glad to see a neighbor in the members - I'm in Kodiak! Was thinking about starting a new group for those of us in the Great Land - I found one other beader in Yakutat. I just got started with the BCP program, had a rough go but getting the hang of it I think. I am retired from the rat race life and am now driving school buses in Kodiak, I might wind up in PL as a sub when your driver wants a break - we usually stay at kathy L's B&B I think. Have you posted any pictures of what you are doing?
Dear Irene: Try not putting things on paper, lol. As I said, I design as I go and the patterns just evolve - the farther you work out on medallions the pattern keeps changing. It took me a long time to get the idea of doing medallion work - tried following a pattern in a book and after 5 times I gave up - no two beaders will create a pattern the same way - even if they are using the same "pattern" and beads. I had an uncle and aunt who lived in Anchorage for many, many years and recently moved to Idaho - never thought he would move from there. Have met some new people here - he is a retired Alaskan State Trooper! Small world. I wish you lots of luck in your business venture - when you love what you do it is so much easier. Just make sure you charge what your work is worth - I have found most people really appreciate good bead work and will pay for it. I guarantee my workmanship for one year, but I am the only beader I know who does. Write when you can. Always, Barb
Dear Irene: No, I don't sell patterns. I have a business, Treasures by Barbara and I create the majority of my pieces from scratch and create the pattern as I go. My things are sold in the Indian Museum of Yosemite National Park (I am Miwok/Chukchansi decent). Beading is my passion and I have been doing it for almost 16 years as a business. Would be happy to help you in your designing if I can. Beading is such a wonderful creative outlet. Always, Barb
Hello Irene, I have been beading for about 25 years now. I do not sell this pattern but you may copy and paste my photo of the earrings and print it out and use it as a pattern if you want to I do not mind at all. Have a great day~ Angela
